No, I don’t travel with an antique suitcase.

There are a lot of travel related web sites, blogs and magazines that focus on the exotic places some people go for that once in a lifetime trip, but the reality for most of us is that 99.9% of the time, Hawaii won’t be on your travel itinerary.  Most of my clients are located in areas you would describe as more “industrial” than “exotic”, and instead of epic two-week vacations, most of my travel consists of 1-2 day trips.  Although I’ll mention where I’m going, I’ll never discuss the business or person I’m working with; client confidentiality is huge in my business, and I’d never to anything to endanger my employer, clients or my job.

I work in Cortland NY, and while I don’t necessarily travel for a living, for the last 25 years my job and extracurricular activities include a lot of travel.  Typically I’m on the road anywhere from 25% to 50% of the time, with instances where I can be away from home for the better part of a month.

I’m also a competitive cyclist, and often racing on the weekends will include a few trips here and there, so the odd cycling related post isn’t all that outside the scope of the travel theme.
